Manufacturing Careers Partnership (MCP) is a growing coalition of manufacturers committed to coordinating efforts with educators and workforce development in promoting initiatives and solutions that will ensure a pipeline of manufacturing talent and career pathways to meet industry needs. The MCP provides a region-wide voice for manufacturers. Learning more, please contact Shelley Jurewicz, VP Economic Development.

The first phase of Welding 101 entailed surveying manufacturers to learn what specific technical knowledge and welding skills manufacturers require be demonstrated in the hiring process of entry-level welders.  The MCP Pre-Employment Welder Skills Survey, developed by MRA – Management Resource Association, for the MCP ran from May 29 – June 26.  Fifty-nine manufacturers completed the survey from around the 7 counties; with responses representing a sample of 1,145 welder jobs. >>Survey Results

The MCP will advance its work initially through a pilot project: Welding 101

Welding 101 – The start of a lasting career in manufacturing, focuses on the immediate need for welders, with an eye toward serving the long-term needs of other targeted areas of manufacturing talent development.  The goal of the project is a pipeline of qualified welding talent.  >> Learn more about the project.
