MMAC welcomes four team members The organization is growing! We are excited to begin 2025 with four additional team members. Join us in welcoming JJ Sherman, Director of Governmental Affairs; Jane Mullarkey, Milwaukee 7 Manager of Corporate Attraction and Expansion; Becky Glass, Events Manager; and Amira Adams, Programs Specialist. Each employee’s diverse skills and experience will prove invaluable as we continue to foster growth in the Milwaukee region. JJ Sherman JJ Sherman serves as the Director of Governmental Affairs at the MMAC, where he works with elected officials across all levels of government to advocate for policies that support MMAC’s mission and its members. In this role, JJ focuses on building strong legislative relationships and supporting the government affairs team in advancing key initiatives for Metro Milwaukee’s business community. JJ brings a decade of experience in state government, including serving as Senior Policy Advisor to the Wisconsin Senate President. In that role, he tracked legislation, drafted regular communications to legislators and constituents and collaborated with leadership teams on policy development. He also held positions as Committee Clerk and Legislative Assistant in the Wisconsin State Senate, where he drafted legislation, managed constituent relations and played a key role in the passage of impactful policy reforms. JJ is a proud graduate of Arizona State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in political science. "I am honored to join the MMAC team and excited to work alongside Andrew Davis and MMAC President Dale Kooyenga, who gave me my first opportunity in politics back in 2015. I look forward to collaborating with our members and legislative partners to strengthen Metro Milwaukee as a vibrant place to live, work and do business." Jane Mullarkey Jane Mullarkey joins M7 as the Manager of Corporate Attraction and Expansion. Her responsibilities include assisting with corporate attraction and expansion projects, coordinating marketing and communication for social media, e-newsletters, etc. as well as representing M7 and participating in state, county and local events to show support and commitment to partners. Over the last three years Mullarkey has worked for the International Parkinson Movement Disorder Society. Throughout her professional career she’s managed programs, coordinated project timelines and worked to increase membership engagement. Mullarkey is from Wauwatosa and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a bachelor's degree in communications and nutrition. “I am excited to be joining this amazing team and look forward to being a part of the positive impact that M7/MMAC has on Milwaukee.” Becky Glass Becky Glass is excited to join MMAC in the Events Manager role. She is responsible for the development, planning and execution of MMAC events and meetings. This includes developing relationships with vendors and venues, marketing support, registration and staff and volunteer management. Her goal is to provide high quality events for more than 2,000 MMAC members, partners and stakeholders. Glass received her associate’s degree in hospitality management from MATC in 2010 and her bachelor's degree in business management and leadership from Wisconsin Lutheran College in 2014. She has held operations, management and event roles at American Family Field, General Mitchell International Airport, the Milwaukee County Zoo and most recently at Wisconsin Lutheran High School. “By joining the MMAC team, I am most looking forward to diving into a new and exciting world of events and expanding my network of fellow professionals.” Amira Adams Amira Adams has the pleasure of serving as the Program Specialist for MMAC. In her role as a program specialist, Adam’s key responsibilities include program management, event coordination, administration and member engagement. Through these responsibilities, she is charged with a vital role in advancing MMAC's mission by supporting and implementing young professionals and talent development events. Born and raised in the beautiful city of Milwaukee, not only was Adams a Rufus King General, but she continued to plant her roots here when she graduated from Alverno College with a Bachelor of Arts in communication and a double minor in creative writing and Community Engagement and Activism (CENA). Throughout her career maturation, Adams has had the opportunity to be a proud AmeriCorps member for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee, a teaching assistant for the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, special projects coordinator for Alive MKE/ Milwaukee Fellows and most recently a campaign coordinator for the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County. In addition to her workforce experience, she has been able to build her brand as AmiraThePoet, performing at conferences and teaching workshops city and statewide. “As I enter this journey at the MMAC, I am most excited to help continue to engage the young professional community through events. I look forward to being a convener of people by providing intentional community building experiences that help others see why they too should choose Milwaukee as the place to live, grow, work and love!” Comments are closed.
