MMAC employee spotlight: Marjorie Yoshida By: Allie Shane, Communications Specialist ![]() If there is one person who knows the inner workings of MMAC, it is Marjorie Yoshida. In 2008, Yoshida started out as an administrator for Milwaukee Development Corporation (MDC) and M7 – both subsidiaries of MMAC. Over 17 years, she has taken every opportunity to get more involved. Today, Yoshida continues to execute administrative tasks for MDC while also serving as MMAC’s Networking Forum manager. In this role, she is responsible for the coordination of eight sales and marketing networking groups. The Networking Forum began in late 2022 and has grown to 100 participants with more waiting to join. Thanks to Yoshida’s leadership, the program is expected to continue its growth trajectory. On top of everything else, she engages MMAC with other nonprofits by organizing activities like fundraising events for the United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County and arranging staff outings to theater performances in support of the United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF). When asked to share her favorite thing about her job, Yoshida’s answer was simple: “I wear many hats,” she said.
This remains true outside of work. Yoshida immerses herself in activities that align with her passions. One such passion is dance. At six years old, Yoshida enrolled in her first ballet class. “Little did my parents know that I was going to keep dancing my entire life,” she said. Yoshida took dance classes throughout college and later ran City Ballet Theatre, a local dance studio that unfortunately closed in 2008. Today, she participates in ballroom dance classes at Arthur Murray. Through these classes she has learned over 12 different dance styles and even performs at the annual studio showcase. In addition to dancing, Yoshida enjoys building new relationships within the Milwaukee community and actively contributing to its well-being. She is the current president of Executive Women International (EWI) of Milwaukee. This professional women’s organization is centered around building connections, creating opportunities for personal and professional development and encouraging community involvement. With plans to retire at the end of the year, Yoshida is excited to spend quality time with her family…and of course remain involved in many activities. Comments are closed.
