The MMAC Board of Directors approved seven new members this week. These influential leaders represent businesses from across the region and industrial spectrum – from manufacturing to finance.
The incoming board members include Peter Arduini, President and CEO of GE HealthCare; Dustin Hinton, President and CEO of UnitedHealthcare of WI and MI; Mike Knapek, Chairman and CEO of Yaskawa America, Inc.; Ernie Litynski, President of RBP Chemical and Major General of the U.S. Army Reserves; Kevin Newell, Founder and CEO of Royal Capital; Stephen Shafer, President and CEO of A.O. Smith Corp.; and Jennifer Slater, President and CEO of Strattec Security Corp.
“We’re pleased to welcome these talented new board members. They are all proven leaders and committed to increasing the economic vitality of our region’s business community,” said MMAC President Dale Kooyenga.

Peter ArduiniPresident and CEO, GE HealthCare
Peter Arduini became president and CEO of GE HealthCare in January 2022, assuming the helm of the $19.7 billion global healthcare company as it transitioned into a standalone entity, while continuing to lead in innovation and AI-driven solutions. He began his career at Procter & Gamble in sales and marketing, spent 15 years in leadership roles at GE HealthCare, and later held executive positions at Integra LifeSciences and Baxter International before returning to GE HealthCare. Arduini holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and finance from Susquehanna University and an MBA from Northwestern University.
Dustin HintonPresident and CEO, United HealthCare of WI and MI
UnitedHealthcare’s initiatives in Wisconsin and Michigan have been guided by Dustin Hinton for more than a decade. In addition to his executive role at UnitedHealthcare, he sits on the Board of Directors for the Alliance of Health Insurers. Hinton holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Mike KnapekChairman and CEO, Yaskawa America, Inc.
Mike Knapek assumed the role of CEO at Yaskawa America in March 2016. His career launched at Magnetek Inc. in 1986, and following Yaskawa’s acquisition of Magnetek’s Drives Division, he progressed into several key leadership positions within Yaskawa. These included the corporate vice president of Yaskawa Electric Corporation, senior vice president of Yaskawa America, and president and chief operating officer of Yaskawa America. In March 2023, Knapek was elected Chairman of Yaskawa America’s Board of Directors. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Marquette University and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.
Ernie LitynskiPresident, RBP Chemical; Major General, U.S. Army Reserves
Litynski joined RBP Chemical in 2010 and assumed his role as company president in 2020. He is also a Major General in the U.S. Army Reserves as the Commanding General for the 76th Operational Response Command. Previously, Litynski occupied key leadership and operational roles at General Electric, Master Lock and within his own distribution and Lean Six Sigma consulting businesses. He also served multiple combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, earning the Bronze Star Medal. Litynski received his bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, an MBA and a Master of Science degree in engineering management from Marquette University and a Master of Science in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College. He is certified in Lean Six Sigma at both the Green Belt and Black Belt levels.
Kevin NewellFounder and CEO, Royal Capital
As Royal Capital Founder and CEO, Keven Newell focuses on the development of sustainable and comprehensive communities through strategic efforts, which include real estate ventures, urban health, food and beverage, venture investments and social responsibility. Before Royal Capital, Newell worked as a senior underwriter and asset manager at WHEDA. Newell holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management and an MBA in finance and management from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He is also a proud alum of Marquette University’s Associates in Commercial Real Estate (ACRE) program.
Stephen ShaferPresident and CEO, A. O. Smith Corporation
Stephen Shafer became president and CEO of A.O. Smith Corporation on July 1, 2025, and was elected to its Board of Directors the same month. He had joined the company in 2024 as president and chief operating officer. Before A.O. Smith, Shafer held leadership roles at 3M, consulted for McKinsey & Company, and worked at Ford and NASA. He holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Northwestern University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Jennifer SlaterPresident and CEO, Strattec Security Corporation
Jennifer Slater assumed her role as president and CEO of Strattec Security Corporation in July 2024. Before this, she held leadership positions at Sensata Technologies, Clarios LLC and Johnson Controls. In addition to her executive role at Strattec Security Corporation, Slater is on the Board of Directors for Valvoline Inc. and MEMA Original Equipment Suppliers. She holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and a master’s in business administration from Walsh College.
