Jacqueline Anderson from Fiserv Forum‘s Private Events Team is our third interviewee in the series. Continue reading for the full Q&A.
Q: Introduce yourself, your name, your company, your role, and then give a general description of what you do.
A: My name is Jacqueline Anderson. I work on the private events team at the Deer District, of course, home of the Milwaukee Bucks. What I do is host events here at Fiserv Forum and Deer District. I help nonprofit, corporate and social events bring their initial ideas to full fruition to bring people together in a very unique way.
Q: Could you give a brief summary of how you ended up in that role, what your journey was like and what is keeping you in your industry or role?
A: My career journey starts off at Winona State University. What I wanted to do was something that was unique, fast-paced, and something where I wasn’t sitting behind a desk, so I started off in Bucks Ticketing. However, I found my passion more so in the events world. When the lights go down at Fiserv Forum, we actually bring the lights up in so many of our other venues.
Q: How long have you been involved at MMAC?
A: I have been involved with MMAC for about a year and a half.
Q: What is your favorite MMAC event or memory at an MMAC event?
A: My favorite memory at MMAC has to be “For the Love of Sales.” It was just a room filled with people that were not only passionate about their craft and what they do, but people who were genuinely excited to help one another and sharpen each other.
Q: What do you feel is the greatest benefit that you’ve gotten out of being involved at MMAC?
A: The greatest benefit is community. Myself and so many other people that are a part of MMAC are actually not from Milwaukee. I had the opportunity to meet a woman who actually moved back from California. She had told us that a lot of the personalized connections that she’s made as she’s been back in Milwaukee have been through MMAC. Since then, we get together quarterly to share best practices and of course, enjoy life together.
Q: What’s one piece of advice that you would give to other early or mid-career professionals?
A: I would say to not be afraid to use your voice and to not put it within a bubble. When you’re passionate about what you do and can share that with others, it inspires the next generation but also others in your circle.
