Early Career Chats is a new interview series run by MMAC Communications Intern Elena Fowle. Elena sits down with early- to mid-career members to hear about their career journeys, professional growth and involvement at MMAC.
This week’s interviewee was Connor Schulz from Topline Results. Continue reading for the full Q&A.
Q: Introduce yourself, your name, your company, your role and then give a general description of what you do.
A: My name’s Connor Schulz with Topline Results over in Pewaukee. We typically focus on CRM and digital marketing implementations for folks.
Q: Could you give a brief summary of how you ended up in that role, what your journey was like and what is keeping you in your industry or role?
A: I originally thought that I was going to be in marketing. I ended up taking a detour route into the IT and cybersecurity world with sales. I found out that I was pretty good at the account executive role, so I decided to stay in that realm, moving into more of my passion and the marketing side of things with Topline.
Q: How long have you been involved at MMAC?

A: I’ve been involved at MMAC for almost two years now, ever since I started at Topline in October of ’24.
Q: What is your favorite MMAC event or memory at an MMAC event?
A: Hands down the Brewer game. It brings the most people. It brings the best vibes. I mean, who doesn’t like a ballpark game? A bunch of people who are looking to just have a good time, get to know each other a little bit better and talk a little business.
Q: What do you feel is the greatest benefit that you’ve gotten out of being involved at MMAC?
A: Relationships. I really hadn’t taken networking seriously until about two years ago. And, ever since then, I’d say that my network has grown tenfold. But then, again, the relationship building. So, getting to know the people at MMAC on a further level than just business has probably been the coolest thing.
Q: What’s one piece of advice that you would give to other early- or mid-career professionals?
A: Going back to my last answer is network and be curious. Don’t just go to events to get as many business cards as you can get. Try to have as many genuine conversations as possible that go farther than just what you sell or what you do as an organization. Really get personable with these folks because that’s been the biggest benefit from my whole time here.
