This year, we announced progress made by Milwaukee Region employers toward diverse hiring and advancement goals - Region of Choice (ROC) initiate - and reiterated our support for a sales tax increase to fund critical quality of life services for the City and County of Milwaukee. We also recognized health care and business leaders for their efforts during the pandemic and presented our Champion of Commerce award to Dr. John Raymond, the Medical College of Wisconsin.
A special thanks to Jonas Prising, Chairman and CEO of ManpowerGroup, for providing steady leadership during his two-year term as MMAC’s Board Chair. And a warm welcome to incoming Chair Cathy Jacobson, President and CEO of Froedtert Health, along with several newly elected board members. |

Jonas Prising, CEO of ManpowerGroup and outgoing MMAC Chair, joins MMAC President, Tim Sheehy, in welcomed more than 1,200 community and business leaders from the Milwaukee Region. They discussed the challenges of the previous year and recognized health care and business leaders for their efforts during the pandemic. Dr. John Raymond, the Medical College of Wisconsin was presented our Champion of Commerce award.

Talent is the currency of the future
Presenting sponsor Andy Keller, J.P. Morgan Chase, kicks off this section with an overview of their accomplishments in the Milwaukee Region. Jonas and Tim then talk about better educating and preparing the population we have to increase the value we will hold in the talent currency of the future.

Workplace challenges & opportunities for Metro Milwaukee employers
Jonas and Tim discuss diversity and inclusion in Milwaukee. They share the progress to-date of the Region of Choice (ROC) initiative, a 5-year pledge by employers to increase African American and Hispanic/Latino employment throughout the region. Julie Granger and Corry Joe Biddle from the MMAC then take a deeper dive, sharing the results from a survey of 2,000 management-level employees about the culture of their workplaces and local communities. Ugo Nwagbaracha, CEO of Diamond Discs International, then lays out important steps the business community can take to increase supplier diversity.

Economic development growth in Southeastern Wisconsin
Gale Klappa, WEC Energy group outlined the Milwaukee 7 (M7) Regional Partnership's economic development wins for the region since its inception. HARIBO of America's Rick LaBerge sweetens things up by revealing why they are built their new factory in Kenosha. And Dominic Ortiz, Potawatomi Hotel & Casino, delivers an energetic message on the future.

Tim and Jonas reiterated the MMAC Board of Director's support for a sales tax increase to fund critical quality of life services for the City and County of Milwaukee. Incoming MMAC Chair Cathy Jacobson, President and CEO of Froedtert Health, brought our 2021 All Member meeting to a close by highlighting our 2022 agenda for economic development, entrepreneurship support and a future SWOT analysis.
