MMAC Member Spotlight

MMAC In just a few words – How does your membership support your business? Membership through the chamber connects us with other business leaders in the community. Public Health is essential to all walks of life. As America's original and first documented pest company, we pride ourselves on being educational resources. The relationships we build through our membership are vital to creating a healthier way of life for everyone. What was the last music or cultural event you attended - in person or virtual?? Duckwrth. Reggie's Rock Club in Chicago. October 2021. If you had a super power – what would it be? I do have super powers. I only use them for good things. What's one fact about you – that most of your colleagues don’t know? I might be the Marketing Director for Rose going on my 17th anniversary this year, but I am also a music producer, jazz flutist, visual artist and owner of Lady J Apothecary. Out of town guests need entertaining – what is your go to destination and why? I love hosting guests. It's a whole experience. Just ask any of my friends. There's always copious amounts of homemade food, wine and laughter. What is one professional goal you have for the next 90 days? Over the next 90 days, I plan to implant positivity into numerous communities, reaching thousands of children through a number of exciting community-based programs we've developed with our partners. Our Literacy Program through Northwestern University kicks off in March. We're encouraging participating children to reach personal reading goals, rewarding them as each level is achieved through local sponsors like Chik-fil-A, Culver's, etc. Any child anywhere can participate! We also became official STEM partners with the Girl Scouts and we're developing a program to encourage girls to explore careers in science. Only 4% of the pest management industry are women! I'm on a mission to change that starting out with primary education level interest. Growth – Neutral or Decline…How would you describe the 2-year outlook for your industry? Public Health is at the forefront of everyone's mind because of the recent pandemic. Last year was a record-breaking year for our 162-year-old business. Every season brings a different set of pests to be concerned about. Rose will continue to keep homes and businesses protected and also raise awareness for the prevention of mosquitos, bed bugs, rodents and other pests that are health threats. We'll also be doing our part to develop pollinator health projects with schools, museums, and community groups. The outlook is very strong and positive for us. Professional admirer – Name one person in the MKE region whom you admire and why. It's not the fact that she says "bubbler" instead of drinking fountain. And it's not because she is an incredible cellist or the fact that her strong woman vibes inspired me to join roller derby in the early 2000's when she was part of the Brewcity Bruisers. Crystal Rausch, aka Critter, is a Milwaukee native, a dear friend of many years and one of my favorite golden-hearted people in the whole world. If there were more Critters in the world, magical things would happen. Comments are closed.
