From MMAC President Tim Sheehy MMAC’s leadership is closely monitoring developments regarding the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19,) which was designated as a pandemic by the World Health Organization on Wednesday. While there have been a relatively limited number of positive cases identified in Wisconsin to date, this is a quickly evolving situation. We know that the Milwaukee Region’s business community and our citizens should plan for the outbreak to spread quickly, and to rapidly change our routines in response. As Milwaukee Region businesses plan for the spread of coronavirus, we want to establish a forum for businesses to publicly share their response plans and other relevant information to help us collaborate and learn from one another: >> Share your company's coronavirus (COVID-19) response plan We are aware of the role “social distancing” can play in the effort to slow the spread of infections, and that many people and companies across the country and around the world are re-evaluating their participation in public events at this time. MMAC is also assessing its calendar of scheduled events. Should MMAC cancel scheduled events because of updated guidance from health officials regarding the hosting of public events in the Milwaukee Region and the state of Wisconsin, we will issue refunds to registered attendees. >>View web page for cononavirus guidance & resources Our community is a resilient one. While we certainly will be challenged by this outbreak, we will be better prepared to respond if we can share information, learn from one another and collaborate wherever possible.
