Funding available for Export Assistance

​The Milwaukee 7 Export Development Grant Program presented by JP Morgan Chase, now in its second year, has awarded just over $200,000 in funding to 53 companies throughout SE Wisconsin, including seven woman-owned and one minority-owned businesses. 

​To date, 29 companies have completed their various projects and have reported export growth of $3.34 million.

The funding is offered to companies to help them to grow their exports by entering new or expanding into existing international markets by attending foreign tradeshows, attaining foreign approvals, attending ExporTech, translating websites, etc. To date, 29 companies have completed their various projects and have reported export growth of $3.34 million, including eight companies that have successfully entered new markets for the first time.

In addition, the Export Development Grant Program has been very successful in assisting companies to navigate trade resources at the local, state and federal level. A total of 102 referrals were made to the U.S. Commercial Service, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation and ExporTech, just to name a few. For companies that have decided that international markets are key to their company’s long-term success, these resources provide a wealth of information and guidance to help make these goals a reality.
