MMAC, Hispanic Collaborative, MKE Black partner to shine a light on issue

Purchasing inclusively impacts people throughout the community. Whether its day-to-day buying, or more formal supply chain programs and contracts – diversifying those purchases can be felt in all corners of the region. Besides creating economic advantages for all involved, the practice drives innovation, competition and helps attract talent.

MMAC is partnering with MKE Black and the Hispanic Collaborative to host “Power of the Purchase,” an evening in which participants can explore how to increase diverse spending. The event will take place from 5-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Discovery World. Learn more and register here.

“This will be an excellent opportunity for organizations that want to do business with diverse suppliers to have the opportunity to learn about how to partner with them successfully and as well as connect and network with several from the Milwaukee community,” said Kenge Adams of MKE Black.

Participants will be able to network with Black and Brown businesses owners to learn more about the products and services they provide, learn best practices from local organizations that have implemented their own supplier diversity programs, understand the positive economic and community impacts of diversified spending and learn how to make the business case for starting supplier diversity programs in your own business.
